Yamaha YZF R125 is expected to be launched in India with the same engine specifications that powers overseas model. The mill will be liquid cooled, single cylinder, SOHC with a displacement of 124.6cc. The powerplant coupled with 6 speed transmission might produces 15 PS of top power and 12.2 Nm of peak torque. The fuel tank of the bike would be of 13.8 litres with a 1.15 litres of reserve. At this point of time, the calculated fuel efficiency on Indian roads is to be 40 kmpl. Compact fuel injection system is responsible for better fuel economy.

What is common to the Duke 200 and the Pulsar 200 NS?

Think of the 200cc engine as a platform for clarity. Bajaj say the gearbox and the crankshaft are virtually identical but from there on the two engines take different paths. It's sort of like how the Volkswagen group uses the same engine across brands. But instead of the same engine in both the Duke and the Pulsar, the top of the engine is different. It's a big difference, one that clearly defines the different roles that the two motorcycles are supposed to take on.

KTM 200 Duke : Dealer Test Ride



If you’ve been following our Duke 200 coverage so far, you know that we’ve ridden the bike on Bajaj’s test track and came away with mixed feelings. Sure, the Duke is fast, light and in a class of its own. While Bajaj is yet to provide test bikes that we can ride on the street for a real-world assessment, we did manage to wrangle a solo ride from a dealer after much pleading and waving of our visiting cards.
Sadly, the display bike was the one and only Duke available, and was not registered, severely limiting our ride to just a few hundred meters. Still, here are some thoughts; take from them what you will.
